Gurupournima Celebration - 2025 at Siddhagiri Math

The full moon day of the month (Purnima) in the Hindu month of Ashadha is traditionally dedicated to honoring the memory and teachings of the Guru. The festival celebrates the contributions of gurus who dispel darkness (ignorance) and lead individuals towards knowledge and enlightenment. This auspicious day is celebrated as Gurupournima, also known as Vyaspoornima, in reverence to Maharshi Ved Vyasa, the revered sage who composed the Mahabharata and compiled the Puranas, shaping the spiritual and literary heritage of India.

Gurupournima is a sacred occasion to express gratitude to all spiritual mentors who guide us on the path of knowledge, wisdom, and self-realization. It reminds us of the profound role a Guru plays in shaping our lives, character, and spiritual journey.

On this divine occasion, Siddhagiri Math warmly invites all Gurubandhus and Bhaginis to take part in the Gurupournima Mahotsav which will be held on 10th July 2025, a celebration marked by devotion, prayers, cultural programs, and spiritual discourses. Devotees are also encouraged to invite their family and loved ones to be a part of this spiritually uplifting event and to collectively offer homage to the Guru with devotion and unity.
